All About Dreams: A Series of Thoughts, Images, and Sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep - Part 3 "The Meaning"

A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of scientific speculation, as well as a subject of philosophical and religious interest, throughout recorded history. Dream interpretation is the attempt at drawing meaning from dreams and searching for an underlying message. The scientific study of dreams is called oneirology. - Wikipedia

The fact that humans as we are experience these strange things in our sleep made me more interested to search and study meaning of each of those common dreams and share them here with you.  Hoping this could serve as our GUIDE for what we are supposed to do or not to do in order to keep away from any untoward incidence associated with our dreams.

This series of blogs made me more interested to learn methodically about dreams and its meanings that is why I did find time to discuss and exchange ideas about these things with my colleagues every day in order to get more personal understanding based on their respective experiences.

I find those meaning essential for us to follow whenever we encounter those thoughts occurring in our minds during sleep.  It serves as a guide for us to follow.

Old classmates

And before I continue with the main subjects that I would like to share today, I just want to mention my dream just last night, wherein I saw some of my old classmates (classmates in elementary and High School) and in that scene I also saw the lady mayor in my birthplace.

So I immediately check the meaning of it and here’s what I found:

To see old classmates in your dream indicate that you need to draw on your old associations with your former classmates to gain insight in some current relationship. It represents a past lesson that you have learned and is applicable in some aspect of your waking life now. - www.dreammoods.com

As to seeing a mayor in my dream designates that I need guidance, especially from a higher source.  I really can’t comprehend the real explanation of this meaning but perhaps “higher source” would mean elders or superiors.

So there you go and to continue with my Dream and Meaning series blog proper, let me start with SNAKE.  I chose this because in one of my posts on FaceBook someone replied with the question about the meaning of her dream involving snakes.

When we see a skin of a snake

When we see a skin of a snake in our dream it connotes protection from illnesses.  I am not really sure if I fully understand what this means but maybe when we are sick and we had this kind of dream that means we are going to a full recovery shortly or the illness will not become complicated so there’s nothing to worry.

When bitten

If in your dream you are bitten by a snake or simply see a snake it represents or signifies worries that bothers you in your waking life.  And it’s even alarming if you see a snake tangles itself because it could mean danger or threat.

A snake in one’s dream also symbolizes temptation and dangerous and forbidden sexuality, for example you see a snake in your bed could mean that you have a feeling of sexually overpowered or threatened.  It would also mean that you have fear of sex or commitment.

Being beheaded

When you see a snake in your dream being beheaded, it could signifies that you are actually having an issue that you are not ready to face.  You are afraid of confrontation, it’s like being not ready to face your fears in your waking life.

If you eat a snake

If you eat a live snake in your dream that could indicate that your life lacks passion and you are searching for sexual fulfilment.  Maybe its time to look for love.

Snake eating snake

Now, I would want to dream of a snake eating another snake because it signifies my drive and determination to really succeed in all my undertakings.  It connotes positive attitude and strong willpower to do the right thing just to be successful no matter what.  But I rather not want to dream about snakes eating people because it signifies cruelty or brutality.

You are eaten by a snake

If you dream that you are eaten by a snake it means that someone is taking advantage of you. And as parents, we should be reminded also that when we dream about a snake eating our child, this signifies that there might be someone who is harming or hurting your child.  So we better check the condition of our child if you don’t see him/her every day.

Finally, one very interesting point here before I proceed to the next I mean before I end this part is that a snake in your dream may also refer to a person whom you can’t trust.  It could be a person who is a traitor so beware of the people around.

So what are your dreams?  Try to comment it below so I could check the meaning of it and share it in my next blog.
