ASOS at EA in San Francisco

The next stop on the screening tour was Electronic Arts in San Francisco.

The lobby is a level straight out of a video game.

And you can actually play video games as you wait to be served at reception desk.

The spacious atrium is filled with concept art.

The company has their own Starbucks inside the Atrium, a video game rental store, an arcade centre where you can play games like ping pong, first person shooters and foosball, and the cafeteria had its own sushi chef.

It's got really nice lighting, and is used by employees as a common space for meetings and projects.

The sound quality was really nice in the EA theatre. While they checked the sound, I did the first sketch in Ron Diamond's new Animation Show of Shows sketchbook and then saw my friend Patrick O'Keefe who used to live and work at the EA Montreal studio and now moved down to San Francisco as a lead concept painter.

When the screening started, the filmmakers got a tour of the EA facilities. They have a huge field where they play sports. They have different teams who book time on the field.

They document the history of the company and the history of video game consoles and devices.

They highlight other expansion locations of EA.

Took a close up shot of the Montreal location!

Throughout the facilities we also saw the EA daycare, EA organic vegetable and fruit market and the EA work out centre where they have basketball courts and ping pong tables.

EA definitely gets the home court advantage on this Animation Show of Shows road trip!
