Fast Food Drive-Thru Issues

Posted on at

I write often of fast food failures.

Here is the latest.

Taco Bell. (I don't know if all Taco Bells do this or not.)
They have an odd way of taking your order at the drive thru. They say something like "Hi, how are you?"
That's all. There's not a "may I take your order?" Just ...silence.
So, I generally answer their question, "I'm fine, how are you?" No need to start telling them what I want to eat, because they haven't even asked.

Tonight they added a new twist to their ordering process.
Now, when they take your order, there's nothing else. The screen at the speaker board will show what you've ordered, and then a total.
That's it.
Not "thanks, your total is Pesos X.xx, please pull around."

I don't like it.

Also, I noticed as I stared at the silent screen displaying my order, that, if you ask them to leave something off of an item that regularly comes on it, they do not take any price off of the item, but, if you add something to the item, they'll charge you extra.
That doesn't seem equal, does it?
