Spent More Time Shopping Than Expected

Posted on at

I've not done a good grocery shop in a long time, but since I got my tax money back last week and paid my bills I had enough left to get more than usual. I needed more than groceries though, so purchased more typing paper, manilla folders for filing and a case for my new dumb/smart phone.

Usually it takes me about an hour to shop, but our store went through a remodel this last year and the grocery section is now 20% larger. I know where many things are, but it was busy and I had to retrace my steps several times to get what was on my list. I got things that I know we'll be running out of in the next few weeks because it was a special two-day sale. I got 5% off my grocery and health and beauty items and an additional amount off the items from the electronics department.

On top of that I was able to use some bonus coupons each employee received recently. I also got an additional 20% off my food, h&b, and 20% off the electronic items. Even then, I spent a lot more than I planned.

Before going, I checked my bank balances to make sure I had enough, and when I paid I put back some things not needed yet like flower bulbs and food bars for snacks.

This time for whatever reason it took me two hours to shop. I'm glad I left a bit earlier than I was aiming for since I work yet this afternoon. I have about an hour to spend with whomever is around today and then back I go.
