I am really surprise when I watch this movie because I never expect that I will laugh out loud. It’s been a long time since I laugh when I watch movie. Mostly I only smile or laugh quietly but this movie have great sense of humour (or same sense of humour like me).

Truthfully, I never learn about Stalin and I don’t know that he died because of stroke. I learn about Hitler when I go to college and it was my thesis but at the time I don’t have interest to learn about Stalin. He just look like good father figure if I only see his picture.

I thought this movie will be like Inglorious Basterds that have history based but the story is different from the history we know but when I do some research about Stalin, mostly the story is true. Stalin died because of stroke in this movie and Nikita Khrushchev replace the position.

The movie have scary story how Stalin make the list of the people that need to kill but somehow they make that look funny. In the beginning of the story there is instruction that Stalin want the record of live classic music but there is no record and the director scared to death, he make the people stay and the musician have to start again. It is scary because the might die just because they don’t have the music but the director of the movie show that the scene can be funny.

“Don't worry, nobody is going to get killed!”

Stalin died because of some women curse him in the paper and he laugh. He laugh and get the stroke. The guard outside the door afraid to check the loud sound from Stalin room because it might be interrupt him and they might got kill because of that and that is the reason of Stalin died in this movie because the guard is scare.

Guard 1: [hearing Stalin's body hit the floor with a thud] Should we investigate...?

Guard 2: Should you shut the fuck up before you get us both killed?

I think the actor doing a good job in this movie, they give the comedy with serious manner. This is remind me to Lock, Stock and Smoking barrel. There is a lot of scene with random talk and believe me, it is really random. That random talk is awesome!

For me the most hilarious scene in the movie is when they found out that Stalin go stroke.  The minister come to the room one by one and talk about Stalin pee. They scare with Stalin but feel the disgust in the same way, how they avoid the pee is too funny.

It look like they don’t want Stalin alive because they randomly kidnap the doctor to check on him and the reason they don’t want to call doctor because the suspicious that real doctor want to poison him or the actual good doctor is already dead.

All the best doctors are in the gulag or dead.

Usually, I watch movie because of the director but I don’t know Armando Iannucci and never see his work before. I just got hunch that I need to watch this movie and I was right. I respect him and his team. He did a great job in this movie!

The casting and make up also great because the character is almost look the same like the real one! I only know Steve Buscemi in this movie but the other actor also did a great job even only have a small part.

Sadly the Russian withdrawn the permission to release the movie and labelled this as offensive and extremist. The movie based of French graphic novel and the trailer said this is loosely based on true story. You need to watch this to get the fun and learn at the same time.
