The novel which has helped me to change my perspective about life

The novel which has helped me to change my perspective about life is:

"Helen Keller : Handicapped Girl" by Katharine E. Wilkie.

The novel is about a courageous and intelligent lady Helen Keller.

Helen Adams  Keller was born on 27 June, 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, US.

When she was 19 months old, she contracted an illness which left her both deaf and blind and the rest of her life is nothing but unforgettable saga of surmounting her physical obstacles.

The world became  dark for her and she started searching and wandering for light.

It took her time to accept this, but she did accept her fate but not as defeatist but as one of the greatest optimist in human history.

According to her, people should start living everyday of their life as if it's their last.

She said:

"Life is a great  adventure or nothing"

Physical fitness according to her, is a boon, least appreciated by the those who are blessed with it. She always had an opinion that people blessed with sight, don't know how to use it. She expressed her desire to introduce a subject " How To Use Your Eyes"to teach people how they can add joy to their life by seeing what passes unnoticed before them.

The first thing which makes me fall in love with this novel is the courage of Helen. She never allowed her physical conditions to become her weakness. She remained steadfast and became the first deaf-blind person to get BA degree.

She was right that we must remain thankful of the blessings of God. After reading this novel, I observed that only blind people know the importance of eyes and only deaf people know how important ears are if you want to enjoy your life and the people who are blessed with complete physical fitness DON'T CARE.
