Update on Recent Prizes

Brazil

I recently got a shipment in the mail from my distribution team at Travelling, the original package being from Anima Mundi in Brazil. A couple months ago, my film played at the festival, I was unable to attend, but after returning from Australia, the news was announced that my film had won a prize at the esteemed animation festival.

The statue is a semi-functioning stop-motion puppet, a recurring character in all of their prizes. As I toured through California on the Animation Show of Shows, visiting all of the major animation studios, I saw a variant of this prize everywhere I went, except with changes in the character's wardrobe. This year's wardrobe was that of a chef.

There is a little metal handle along the base of the statue, and when you turn it, it makes the puppet move!

Comes with a charmingly designed certificate and official letter. The prize money will hopefully come in next month. Anima Mundi has also offered a separate fee to take my film on the road as part of their traveling film festival which tours throughout Brazil.

San Jose

Some other recent good news. When I attended the Palm Springs International Shortfest back in June, I met Bill Hargreaves, one of the organizers for the San Jose Short Film Festival. This week it was announced that Requiem for Romance was voted the Best Animation at the festival.
