Lieutenant-General Hamid Gull
Lieutenant-General Hamid Gull was a military commander in the Pakistani Army in the 1980s,
he performed his job very efficiently and effectively, he manage the thing as best he can manage, and served as the head of the country's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency from 1987 to 1989. ISI is Pakistani intelligence agency who have the best man of this country, they are still doing their duties day and night.
Gull’s rise to fame came during the Pakistan-Saudi-US effort to keep funds and logistical support flowing to the Afghanistan mujahidin, who were eventually credited with defeating Soviet military and political forces.
In an interview atAl Jazeera TV on February 18th 2010 Lieutenant-General Hamid Gull gave a statement that “the Taliban is the future the Americans are the past in Afghanistan”.
How true this statement seemed
- At first this statement seemed to be false because on these days it seemed that the NATO forces had control on Afghanistan. But on 23rd June 2011 when everyone was saying that NATO has gained control on Afghanistan. At that time the former head of British Army General Lord Richard Dannatt gave a statement
- The Taliban will be a part of the future of Afghanistan after the military withdraw.
- The statement of Lieutenant-General Hamid Gull was proven true when in 2014 general election some of Taliban leaders took part in election and won. Now they are the part of afghan government.
