Belief in life after death and the Day of Judgement or Akhirat is an article of faith in Islam. At many places in the Holy Quran this belief is mentioned along with belief in Allah. There are nearly two hundred verses in the Holy Quran which reference to the Hereafter is made.

         Man dose not perish altogether after death. His spirit will survive until the Day of Judgement. On that day, Allah will re-until the souls with their bodies and raise the dead to life again. Man will then be rewarded or punished for his deeds. The pious will find an abode in Heaven which will be full of Allah`s blessings while the wrong doers will suffer torture in Hell.

          A person who believes in life after death knows that all his actions are being recorded. They will be presented to Allah on the Day of Judgement. If the good deeds outweigh the had ones, he will find a place in Heaven, otherwise he will be thrown into Hell.

          It is obvious that a person who has firm belief in life after death fears Allah, follows the right path and does good deeds. Belief in life after death is a means of improving human society because it encourages people to do good and avoid evil.
